Focusing Families celebrated their 20th Anniversary during their Annual Fundraising Dinner on January 31st, 2020 with Master of Ceremonies Melissa Wilson. There were over 350 attendees including many elected officials as well as candidates.
Susan Repka, President of the Board of Directors, welcomed the attendees and thanked them for being a part of the “Village” that works with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as they start their road to recovery. Sponsorships, silent auction and live auction purchases help fund the many services that Focusing Families offers in-house to our clients.
Mrs. Jackie Romine, Immediate Past President was presented a gavel on behalf of the entire Board of Directors to thank her for eight years of service on the board, four of those as President.
Focusing Families’ staff was then recognized and received a standing ovation for the continued work on behalf of their clients.
Following dinner, Auctioneer Charlie Tiner and crew worked the crowd to raise almost $12,000 from the auction items and another $4000 for replacing air conditioners in both the Crisis Center and Shelter.
Entertainment for the night was provided by Saint Jimi and included a mix of music spanning
multiple generations including Rat Pack and Johnny Cash.
