What is Community Education and Outreach?

Focusing Families is dedicated to aid in preventing violence through Community Education and Outreach. Prevention Education for Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Assault involves raising awareness, promoting healthy relationships, and implementing strategies to prevent violence from occurring.

How can we help?

Focusing Families’ Community Educator is trained and equipped to educate and empower groups on prevention education such as the cycle of violence, the power and control wheel, and signs of a healthy/unhealthy relationship. Our Community Educator can meet your group where they are at emotionally.

What do we offer?

Community Education

Involvement and presentations in community, schools and social services.

Public Education

Trainings involving law enforcement, criminal justice, medical, human services, clergy, and other professions.

Volunteer Program

Training of volunteers to help provide advocacy in crisis intervention, accompaniment and follow-up services to victims of Sexual Assault.
